At Creative Windows, we had the joy of working on an exciting project—a remodel of a mid-century modern home. The challenge was the front window, which angles out from the living room, giving the home a distinctive look. The customer wanted a window treatment that not only followed the angled lines but also highlighted the unique design while keeping the alcove’s floor space intact.
The Challenge: Uniquely Angled Front Window
The customer’s request was clear – they desired a window treatment that would seamlessly blend with the angled lines of their front window. This unique design element needed special attention to ensure it was accentuated rather than concealed. Additionally, preserving the floorspace in the alcove was crucial to maintain the open and spacious feel of the living area.
The Solution: Innovative Hunter Douglas Duette Architella Shades
We chose Hunter Douglas Duette Architella shades with a track-glide system for their perfect fit. These shades complemented the window’s glossy white molding and worked well with the slanted walls. The innovative track-glide design keeps the shades secure, even when the window is tilted. To enhance usability and safety, we included a cordless LiteRise system in the design.
Additional Design Elements: Sleek Roller Shades and Ripplefold Drapery
To complete the transformation and enhance the home’s mid-century modern aesthetic, we also designed and installed sleek roller shades and ripple fold drapery and sheers. These additional elements provided practical light control and privacy and added a layer of sophistication to the overall design. The result was a harmonious combination of window treatments that perfectly complemented the unique window treatment.
